How to download QR codes to share with your attendees

Wordly offers QR codes as a quick and simple way to join a session. These QR codes can be downloaded in multiple formats for ease of use at meetings and conferences.

You can:

To download a QR code

  1. From the Wordly dashboard, select Sessions from the left side menu.
  2. Select your target session.
  3. Click Attendee Shortcuts to expand the window and reveal the URL and QR code. To the right of the QR code, click the download button ( Session Download Button Icon ).

    A new window displays the following download formats. This file format can be:
    • On-screen scaleable (SVG) - Added to websites or displayed on a screen. You can enlarge the QR code without loss of quality.
    • SVG with passcode embedded - Added to websites or displayed on a screen with an attendee passcode built in. This option is only available if the created session needs a passcode to access.
    • Printable (PDF) - Printed and distributed to attendees.
    • PDF with passcode embedded - Printed and distributed to attendees. This option is only available if the created session needs a passcode to access.
    • Instructions included (PDF) - Printed and distributed to attendees.
    The Instructions included (PDF) PDF displays three illustrated steps to opening and attending the session:
    1. Scan QR code or go to the URL.
    2. Choose language and click Attend.
    3. Use headset on your phone for audio or read a transcript on your device. Show complete phrases.
    4. Display translated text only once a full phrase is complete.

    (Optional) QR with More Options

    When selecting the format to download the QR code, you can specify options for the attendees.

    1. From the Download Session QR Code window, click More options.
    2. Select any or all of the following:
      Show complete phrases. - Display translated text only once a full phrase is complete.
       Restrict attendee languages. - Attendees will be able to use only the languages you choose after picking this option.
      Skip attendee landing screen. - Attendees will start out directly on the page showing translations.

    When downloading QR Codes with additional options enabled, note that the QR code will be different from the default QR code in the Attendee Shortcuts section.

    The QR code downloads as a .zip file. Inside is a folder labeled session_qr_codes, which contains a PDF with your QR code in your chosen format.

    Downloading Multiple QR Codes

    You can download multiple sessions’ QR codes at once.

    To download multiple QR codes

    1. In the Sessions tab, select the sessions that you want to download by holding Shift down as you click the sessions.
    2. Click Download Sessions.
    3. Select the QR format that you want to download.

    When you select Instructions included (PDF), sessions that require a passcode won’t be included because they require the user to take additional steps to attend.

    Downloading QR code instructions in different languages

    When downloading the QR code with instructions for your attendees to open and attend the session, you may want to change the language that the instructions appear in. You can download QR code instructions in English, French, Spanish, and Japanese.

    To download QR code instructions in different languages

    1. From the Wordly dashboard, click your profile button in the upper right of the screen and  change the locale to your preferred language for the QR code instructions.
    2. Download the QR code, making sure to select Instructions included (PDF).
