Maximizing Zoom Sound for Wordly

Restore Zoom’s “Original Sound” audio setting to improve translation quality

To improve Wordly real-time translation quality in Zoom, enable Zoom Original Sound. Standard Zoom audio processing distorts speech patterns, which degrades real-time translation accuracy. Using Zoom Original Sound preserves the unprocessed audio signal and significantly improves Wordly translation quality across all languages.

To enable Zoom's Original Sound

  1. Start a Zoom meeting or join an existing one.

  2. Once you’re in the meeting, navigate to Audio Settings and open.

  3. In the "Settings" window, under "Audio Profile," select "Original sound for musicians" and set Echo Cancellation to the desired level. (Note: the exact label may vary depending on your version of Zoom — check Zoom's current support documentation if you do not see this option.)

  4. Make sure that all other options within the Audio Profile section are cleared.

  5. Close the "Settings" window.

  6. In the meeting toolbar, click "Turn on Original Sound" to activate the feature. The button displays "Original Sound: On" when it is active.

Zoom's Original Sound setting is now active. When you start a new Wordly session with Zoom, make sure that "Original Sound" is on. To deactivate Original Sound or change your audio options, return to Zoom’s Audio Settings.
