About Spending Wordly Minutes
How this time is spent when you run a Wordly session and how to maximize your use of Wordly minutes
How minutes are charged in Wordly
Minutes are the units of time you purchase and use in Wordly.
Minutes are not charged based on the duration of a session, but actual used minutes.
For example, if a session is scheduled to run for 1 hour but lasts only 37 minutes, only those 37 minutes are charged. Conversely, if a session is scheduled to run for 1 hour but goes 1 hour 5 minutes, 65 minutes are charged.
You're charged by each Wordly session that your organization uses, not just the session that you're the host of. Example: Your organization has an event with 3 rooms. You use a separate Wordly session for each room, and the event lasts for 1 hour. This spends a total of 180 minutes (3 different Wordly sessions x 60 minutes).
Minutes stop being charged either when the stream to the session is ended, or when the presenter mutes their microphone. For example, if the session lasts for 1 hour but the microphone is muted for 30 minutes, only 30 minutes will be charged.
Maximize spending your Wordly minutes
Sessions do not end automatically at the end of the scheduled duration. To prevent the usage of unused minutes, you’ll need to manually end the session when finished. Otherwise, Wordly continues to bill your minutes until either your minutes run out, or the session is ended automatically.
To ensure that you aren't being charged for minutes that you're not using, make sure to:
- Start the session with the microphone muted and unmute when your speaker begins presenting.
- Make sure to select End Session when you're done with the session. Leave Session doesn't end the session. It leaves the session open, making it appear to attendees as if the session is still ongoing.
To prevent minutes being charged accidentally, Wordly automatically ends a session after two hours if no stream is detected.
