How to set up Wordly for in-person meetings
Wordly can be used for in-person meetings and events. To use Wordly in this manner, we recommend connecting Wordly directly to the meeting or conference room audiovisual equipment.

Variations in mobile devices and audio equipment may affect the setup.

Wordly Setup Without AV Equipment
You can use Wordly without AV equipment for your event by connecting a microphone to a laptop or mobile device. The device that you're connecting to is the same device that you'll run Wordly on.
You can use either a wired or a wireless microphone.
Don't use the laptop or mobile device's microphone. You won't get quality sound from the device's built-in microphone.
To attach a wired microphone
-
Connect the microphone to the device. Most microphones connect either via USB or via a 3.5mm jack.
- Depending upon your device's ports and your microphone cable connection, you may need to use an adapter. Example: The microphone has a 3.5mm jack and your laptop only has USB ports. You would need a 3.5mm female to USB male adapter.
- Your device should automatically detect your microphone. You may need to download drivers for your device.
- Select the microphone as the input in the device's sound settings.
- Test the microphone and make sure that the device is detecting sound from the microphone.
- If microphone doesn't work, check
- The physical connection between the device and the microphone.
- That the microphone is selected in the sound settings.
- That the microphone works. Try another microphone.

To attach a wireless microphone
-
Plug the receiver into the device using the correct cable or adapter.
-
Turn on the transmitter (the mic unit) and the receiver. They should automatically pair.
- Test the microphone and make sure that the device is detecting sound from the microphone.
- If microphone doesn't work, check that:
- The microphone is selected in the device's sound setting.
- The microphone and receiver is charged.
- The microphone and receiver are in range of each other.
