Integrating Wordly with Conference Software
How to determine the best way to use Wordly with available conference software
Wordly needs access to event audio (such as webinar, meeting, or conference session) in order to create real-time translation. With specialty conference event platforms like Cvent, Eventbrite, and Pheedloop, Wordly needs a way to “hear” all the audio from the event.
Wordly can integrate with the conference event platform in the following ways:
- RTMP streaming - Use the streaming link and key in your session under Streaming Shortcuts.
- Universal Audio Capture - Use the links provided in your Wordly Session under Meeting Shortcuts to receive audio through a web browser.
Before your event, you need to determine the best way to integrate Wordly into the available conference software. The following can help you make this decision:

Is this streamed event fully virtual?
- Yes. There won't be any in-person attendees.
-
For this virtual component are you able to program a second streaming output in your encoder?
- Yes. You should use the streaming link found in your session under Streaming Shortcuts.
- No. You should use Universal Audio Capture to send audio to Wordly.
-
- No. This is an in-person event that video also be live streamed to a virtual audience.
-
-
Is there a delay in your virtual stream?
RTMPS streaming will have a delay, where other streaming services, such as Zoom or Google Meet have no delay.
- Yes. You'll need to create two Wordly sessions: one for in person attendees (using an in-person setup) and one for virtual attendees. These two sessions will need to be run in parallel to one another. Read Special Considerations for Hybrid Events for more information.
- No. You'll receive the audio from the sound board using Wordly's process for in-person events. Your attendee (both in-person and virtual) will use the attendee shortcut in your session to access the captions and translations. Read Sharing the Session for more information.

Providing Translations
Wordly translations can be shared with the audience in the following ways:- Embed the Attendee Shortcut link with an iframe within the conference application. Many conference applications have the ability to let you add source code in their app to provide a custom stream. You'll add an HTML code with an iframe tag and replace the url with the Wordly source URL.
Example:<iframe src="https://attnd.wordly.ai/fram/ABCD-1234" />,
where ABCD-1234 is the session ID.
This method is ideal for virtual events. However, not all conference applications can display custom streams. Read iFrame Integration for more information. - Provide the Attendee Link or QR code to your attendees. Read Downloading QR Codes for more information.
Hybrid Events
Are you hosting a hybrid event, where attendees will attend the same session both in person and virtually?
- You need to be aware that if you use RTMP streaming for your event, there will be a delay with the RTMP stream. You'll need to create two Wordly sessions: one for in-person attendees (using in person setup), and one for virtual attendees. You'll run these two sessions in parallel to one another. For more information, read Special Considerations for Hybrid Events.
- If you're using a virtual platform that doesn't have a delay (such as Google Meet and Zoom), you can give both in-person and virtual attendees the same attendee shortcut to access the captions and translations. Read Sharing the Session for more information.
